SUPERLUMINAR. Super Competent! We have achieved the Generative AI Services Competency!
April 27, 2026
As you may know, we are an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner. This means that we are recognised by AWS as having in-depth knowledge and experience of a diverse range of AWS services, and a proven track record of delivering successful projects on AWS with our clients.
In addition to expertise in training and supporting our clients build with AWS. We have three so-called ‘AWS Competencies’ right now:
Devops Competency: validates our ability to deliver solutions that enable automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
Migration Competency: certifies our experience and knowledge related to helping customers migrate their applications, data, and workloads to AWS in a secure, efficient, and cost-effective way.
and new for 2026…
- Generative AI Competency 🎉 this is a new competency that underlines our ability to deliver production level solutions that make use of generative AI services on AWS (e.g. AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Jumpstart, and so on) to build solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
What are AWS Competencies?
AWS Competencies are a way for AWS to assess and recognise the expertise of its Partners in specific areas of technology. To earn an AWS Competency, a Partner must provide evidence for their expertise through case studies, customer references, and technical assessment of architecture and decisions made in past projects.
To cap it off there is a final audit in which the evidence is reviewed by a third party. This involves direct interviews with the Partner’s team to validate the claims made in the application. It is a rigourous process that requires considerable preparation and a strong track record of successful projects in the relevant area.
What are the requirements for the Generative AI Competency?
To earn the Generative AI Competency, a Partner must demonstrate expertise in designing and implementing solutions that leverage generative AI services on AWS. We had to provide evidence of our ability to:
- Build and deploy generative AI services with e.g. AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker and other relevant services.
- Deliver solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
- Complete projects that had a significant positive impact on the client’s business.
- Demonstrate clear understanding, knowledge and standardised practices in relation to using generative AI services in general and specifically on AWS.
here is the original announcement of the generative AI competency.
